I never thought this day would come, but it came. 'Avengers: Infinity War' is the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the third Avengers film in the franchise. This time the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy and other heroes such as Spider-Man, Black Panther and Doctor Strange all come together in the biggest movie event of the year, perhaps even of all time. For those people who have been anticipating it for all 10 years, then just go see it because you'll have a great time. But, for others who are two steps behind and is curious enough to know whether this film is worth seeing in theaters or even at all then just read on. And don't worry there are no spoilers here.

'Avengers: Infinity War' picks up shortly after Thor: Ragnorok (2017) and Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) arrives at the scene with his goons and is looking for the remaining Infinity Stones in the galaxy. Almost every character from the MCU gets intertwined into this plot must do whatever it takes to prevent Thanos from destroying half of humanity. I should just stop right there because you really should just go and see this movie and be surprised for yourself.

I'll say this: If you're one of those people who has never seen any films in the MCU and wants to start somewhere then don't start by watching this one because you'll be totally lost and frustrated by anything that happens in the film. It's not a standalone film at all. For me who has seen every MCU film, this was just one of the best movie-going experiences ever. The audiences were cheering, laughing, crying and clapping at every epic moment in the film. I gave into the hype and followed along with them. It's every comic book fans' wet dream I tell you. Nothing about this film was ashamed at being a big and spectacular comic book film that does play with your emotions and expectations like a violin. Every actor slips back into their roles and they go for an all out war. The film's title certainly doesn't lie. I was quite surprised that for a movie that's 2 hours and 40 minutes long every single hero that appears on screen does get a moment to shine. One of the film's biggest asset is the villain Thanos. Like Ultron from Age of Ultron (2015), he truly believes that destroying half of humanity would be beneficial for humanity. He certainly is our heroes' most difficult challenge. As the movie continues he's also gaining more Infinity Stones and the tension just rises at every second of the film. Not to mention that all the special effects in this film are believable even for Thanos who is just one huge effect for 80% of the film.

Whatever negatives I have with the film are all just nitpicks to be totally honest. For a film that was expected to be an epic crossover, I was quite shocked that there wasn't an epic wide shot of all the MCU characters like in the first two Avengers films. The film does constantly jump back and forth between characters from all across the galaxy and for the most part, it's all seamless with no significant tonal changes whatsoever. But, I did dislike the fact that all of our heroes were not at one location together. I bet they're saving that for "part 2". When I say "part 2", I do mean that this film has that "part 1" feel as it does leave the audiences in a haunting, but impactful cliffhanger. No surprise there.

Overall, for those who know what they're getting into will get the most satisfaction from this movie, no question. But, it does work in its own right as a summer tent-pole blockbuster that'll please anyone. Its got laughs, spectacle and all of the epicness that one could want from a film like this.

'Avengers: Infinity War' gets an A+
